Do you want a meaningful job where you follow children's journeys, create safety, and contribute to a sustainable future?
We at the Social Administration, VO Children and Youth, Family Home Unit, are now looking for an engaged child secretary who wants to help shape the future of family home care.
Here you make a difference every day.
What we offer you
With us, you will be part of a warm, experienced, and supportive unit that is passionate about its mission. The unit consists of 9 child secretaries (including one senior social worker) and 8 family home secretaries, led by a present and committed unit manager.
Together, we work to create safety, stability, and development for children and young people placed in family homes. We are engaged in an ongoing and long-term development effort related to the new social services act, where we strengthen the child rights perspective and further develop our working methods based on Signs of Safety and the basic principles of BBIC.
We are also in the process of building our own enhanced family home care – a sustainable and qualitative approach to meet children's needs and provide the right support to family homes over time.
With us, you will receive:
- Meaningful work tasks where you follow the child throughout the placement and represent the child's perspective
- Supportive leadership and collegial community with close cooperation between manager and colleagues
- Development opportunities through supervision, training, and collegial reflection
- Balance in everyday life with flexible hours, the possibility of remote work, and wellness benefits
- Participation and trust – we believe in freedom under responsibility and that development is created together.
Your role
As a child secretary, you are responsible for following up on the care of children and young people placed in family homes. You are the case manager and have overall responsibility for ensuring that the child's care and development are as favorable as possible.
A central part of the assignment is to build a relationship with the child or young person, be a safe adult, and an advocate who safeguards the child's interests. The work involves close collaboration with family homes, guardians, family home secretaries, biological networks, and other important actors such as schools and health care.
The position also includes ongoing documentation, follow-ups, and investigations as needed based on the child's needs. Travel with overnight stays may occur.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in social work with children and young people. Experience in public authority work within social services, family home care, and work according to BBIC and Signs of Safety is an advantage.
You have:
- good documentation skills
- good knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines, and regulations
- the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
- good digital competence
As a person, you are secure, responsible, and analytical. You easily build trust, work independently but enjoy close collaboration with others. You have endurance in complex processes and are happy to contribute to development with thoughts and ideas.
We offer
The position is a permanent employment with a start date by agreement.
Hässleholm Municipality strives to create the best conditions for a sustainable work life, where you can thrive, feel good, and experience joy at work. We offer our employees benefits such as wellness grants and the opportunity to exchange vacation day allowances for days off.
You share the values and approaches described in our employee and leadership policy:
